Audi has released first photos and details for the new light offroad capable A6 allroad.

The third generation allroad variant in the fourth generation A6 (C7) features a raised ride height of six cm (2.36 in), constrasting black body trim, single-frame grille with vertical slats, front and rear stainless steel underbody skid plates and dual exhaust.

Measuring only a few millimeters bigger than the A6 Avant, notable body details include the flared fenders, double bar mounted roof rails and side skirts with aluminum inserts. Although the contrasting two tone color is an allroad hallmark, full paint finish in combination with an aluminum exterior package is optional. LED technology for the headlights and tail lights are optional as well.

Inside the A6 allroad features a Santos Brown interior with black carpeting and instrument panel. Optional aluminum inlays are available while the door sill trims are also made of aluminum and are emblazoned with "allroad." In the luggage compartment, Audi's load-securing rail system with tensioning straps and a double loading floor are standard.

The new A6 allroad quattro benefits from a new range of efficient V6 engines giving a reduction in fuel consumption by as much as 20 percent compared to the previous model. There is one TFSI gasoline engine and three TDI units. All are 3.0-liter engines with turbocharging and direct injection.

Here are the engine specifications that Audi has released so far:

3.0 TFSI

  • 310 PS (228 kW / 306 bhp) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) torque
  • 0 - 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds

The new Audi A6 allroad quattro will be available in Germany from spring 2012. The 3.0 TDI developing 150 kW (204 hp) has a list price of €54,600.
